Campbell sweeps Hampton for its second CAA sweep of the season

HAMPTON, VA. - Campbell took the series win against Hampton, winning the third game 3-1. 

The Camels got their first run in the second inning after Madilyn Gillespie hit a fly ball that advanced Delaney McDilda to third, and then she scored on an error. In the third inning, Alyssa Henault stole second and Allyiah Swiney scored on the throw. For the final Camel run of the game, McDilda hit an RBI sac fly that brought in Makayla McClain. 

Hampton scored their first and only run of the game in the sixth inning when Brooke Williams hit an RBI single that brought in Carmynn Bonner. 

Angelina Branch (1-5) was charged with the loss after pitching 7.0 innings and allowing four hits, two earned runs and three strikeouts. 

Isabella Smith (15-5) was credited with the win after pitching 6.2 innings, allowing two hits, no runs and nine strikeouts. Hannah Leierer also came in and pitched 0.1 innings and allowed two hits and one earned run.

The Camels will play Duke in Durham, N.C. on Wednesday, April 10 at 6:00 PM. The Camels will be back at home April 12-14 to host College of Charleston for a CAA series matchup, and alumni weekend!
