BUIES CREEK, N.C. – Freshman pitcher Nate Brittain has been named the CAA Rookie of the Week, the conference announced Monday afternoon.

Brittain had his first collegiate start on Sunday in his seventh appearance this year. In his five innings on the mound, he held North Carolina A&T to just one hit.

Brittain retired 12 of the first 14 batters he faced, as he recorded six strikeouts in the 7-5 Campbell victory.

Brittain's season ERA now sits at 4.02. He now has 20 strikeouts this year to 10 walks, and he has one save to his name this season.

The other CAA weekly award winners are Tyler MacGregor (Northeastern, Player of the Week), Alec Couture (Monmouth, Co-Pitcher of the Week) and Eddie Smink (Stony Brook, Co-Pitcher of the Week).
