Camels take on Elon Monday night

BUIES CREEK, N.C. - Campbell is set to visit Elon for a primetime battle on national TV Monday night at 9 p.m. on CBS Sports Network. The game is the first of two against the Phoenix this season, and the first of three on CBSSN.

The Campbell radio call is also available on GoCamels.com and The Varsity Network App.

The winner of Monday night's game will move into a tie for second place in the CAA standings.

Series History
Monday marks the 40th meeting between programs, with Campbell at 15-24 all-time against Elon. The Camels swept both meetings last season, winning by 10 at home, and by two at the Schar Center on a buzzer-beating layup by Anthony Dell'Orso. Jasin Sinani averaged 13.5 ppg against Elon across both meetings last season.

Last Time Out
Campbell flipped a 10-point halftime deficit into an 11-point victory at Hampton, 66-55. Jasin Sinani led the second half surge with 21 points, 16 after halftime, to get the win. All five Campbell starters finished in double figures on the night.

The win is Campbell's first after trailing by double-digits at the half since Jan. 30, 2021 against Charleston Southern.

Scouting The Phoenix
Elon carries an 11-5, 2-1 mark into Monday night, coming off a loss at league-leading William &  Mary Thursday night. The Phoenix swept their opening weekend of league play beating NC A&T and Hampton. The signature win on Elon's resume thus far was a seven-point victory at Notre Dame on Dec. 22.

The Phoenix are one of the nation's premier rebounding teams with 43 boards per game, the fourth-most in the country, and the sixth-best rebounding margin (+11.1). That effort is led by 7'4" Matthew Van Comen averaging 8.7 rpg. Sam Sherry helps the cause with 8.2 rpg, both among the top five individuals in the CAA.

Elon was picked to finis\h 13th in the preseason poll, and is led by Billy Taylor in his fourth year with the program.

Looking Ahead
Campbell prepares for a pair of home games against Charleston on Thursday night and Monmouth Saturday afternoon.

Thursday night's game will feature the Brooks & Reid Hoop Room. Tickets are available now for pregame hospitality and to hear from coaches across campus.
