BUIES CREEK, N.C. – Senior guard Gianni Boone was named to the Preseason All-CAA First Team, and the Camels were picked to finish 4^th in the CAA Preseason Poll.
 
A native of Washington, D.C., Boone appeared in all 35 games and made 33 starts last season and averaged 11.0 points and 4.7 rebounds per contest. She ranked fourth in the CAA with a 45.7 field goal percentage and was named to the All-CAA Third Team at the conclusion of the regular season.
 
Boone recorded three 20-point games last year, two of which came against conference opponents. One standout performance came against UNCW, where she notched a 20-point, 10-rebound double-double in a 13-point win over the Seahawks while playing just 25 minutes.
 
A consistent performer for the Camels, Boone has appeared in every game during her Campbell career. She set a career-high 21 points against Western Carolina, then matched the performance against Stony Brook to go along with four rebounds and four blocks.
 
The conference recognition is Boone's third of her career. In addition to earning all-conference honors last year, she was named to the Big South All-Freshman Team in the 2022-23 season.
 
The Camels were selected to finish fourth in the preseason poll, following a year with a top three finish in the regular season and a berth to the CAA Championship game. The squad also won its first WNIT game in program history, knocking off Coastal Carolina in come-from-behind fashion, finishing with a record of 22-13, 12-6.
