Camels fall in finale at A&T

GREENSBORO, NC – Campbell fell to NC A&T in four sets in the regular season finale, snapping an 11-match winning streak. After clinching a share of the regular season crown yesterday, the Camels officially share the crown with Hofstra, both finishing with 13-3 records in league play.
 
The Camels conclude the regular season 21-6, 13-3.
 
The Camels settle for the 2-seed in the upcoming CAA tournament, losing the tiebreaker to Hofstra based on set win percentage against common opponents.
 
NC A&T got off to a hot start to take the first set 25-20. The Aggies led by as many as seven in the opening set, hitting .270 and the beneficiary of three Campbell blocking errors.
 
Campbell bounced back and cruised to a 25-17 second set. The Camels hit .367 in the set with only two attack errors to even the match score at one apiece.
 
The Aggies took the 2-1 lead with a close 25-23 decision in the third. Campbell held off three match points to get back in the mix, but couldn't quite draw even with A&T coming away with the final kill.
 
A&T finished things off by leading wire to wire in the fourth set. The Aggies jumped out to a 4-0 lead and never looked back, taking the set 25-19.
 
Both Gwen Wolkow and Maja Daca both notched double-doubles, Wolkow with 16 kills and 10 digs, Daca with 14 & 10.
