BUIES CREEK, N.C. – A record 36 teams, competing over 27 holes, turned out Saturday at Keith Hills Golf Club for the annual Battle at the Creek tournament.
The field included 23 Campbell Golf alumni, seven Campbell Hall of Fame members, multiple NCAA regional participants and three members of the 1970 Campbell NAIA national championship team.
Saturday's event raised more than $17,000 for the Campbell men's and women's golf teams and allowed current team members to meet and interact with alumni and friends of the university as well as Keith Hills members.
The Overall (Todd Harris '82) and Orange flight (Sam Brewer '70, Julian Bunn '70, Jim Gurkin '69, Johnny Williams '71) winners included Campbell Golf alumni. Campbell golfers from all seven decades (since 1962) of the program's history returned to Buies Creek to play on Saturday.
