Camels stay on road to face Minnesota

MINNEAPOLIS - Campbell is set for their final non-conference road game, taking on the Minnesota Golden Gophers Sunday evening. Tip-off is set for 6 pm ET/5pm CT and will be broadcast nationally on the BigTen Network.

Series History
Campbell and Minnesota have faced off once prior, a 1997 meeting in Minneapolis, a 67-57 win for the Gophers. Campbell is 0-2 this season against Big Ten opponents, falling at No. 24 Wisconsin and at Penn State.

Last Time Out
Campbell battled with No. 7 Gonzaga and came up short in a 98-70 defeat Wednesday night. The Camels trailed by just 10 with 10 minutes to play. Dovydas Butka and DJ Smith led the way with 19 and 18 points, respectively, while Chris Fields Jr. hauled in 10 boards.

Campbell represented the closest game Gonzaga has played with a mid-major opponent this season, and had a lesser margin of defeat than both Kentucky and Maryland against the Zags. 

Scouting the Golden Gophers
Minnesota enters Sunday's game with a 6-5 mark, 1-1 in Big Ten Play with a win over No. 22 Indiana.

The Gophers are led by Cade Tyson's 22.5 points per game, the nation's third leading scorer. Tyson is shooting better than 40% from three, as well as ranking second in the country in free throws. Jaylen Crocker-Johnson is the only other player averaging double-figure scoring with 12.8. 

Minnesota is led by Nico Medved in his first year at the helm in Minneapolis. 

Looking Ahead
Campbell returns to Buies Creek for the final non-conference game of the year, and the final home game of 2025. The Camels host Green Bay on Dec. 23 at noon with $5 admission for all fans.
