COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS – Campbell's historic championship season came to an end in a 3-0 defeat to 3-seed Texas A&M in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.
Campbell finishes the season with a 23-7 record, a share of the CAA regular season championship, and the CAA tournament title. The 2025 Camels are the first team in program history to win both the regular season and tournament titles.
Abbie Tuyo, a Waco, Texas native, led the Camels with nine kills in front of her family and friends in attendance.
Texas A&M entered with one of the nation's best attacks and flexed that throughout the night, finishing with 43 kills on .419 hitting.
Campbell hung tight with the Aggies in the opening frame, falling 25-20. Campbell pushed the hosts with a late 8-1 run to draw within three points, but was unable to get closer. Campbell's block was stout early with three stuffs in the first frame.
A&M ran away with the second set 25-10. The Camels notched only six kills on a flat .000 hitting in the set, while A&M hit a blistering .727 without an error.
Texas A&M closed things out with a 25-13 third set. Tuyo closed out the night with five kills in the third set.
Hannah Pattie led the Camels with 15 assists, while
Bella Illig notched 10 digs.
First-team all-SEC Logan Lednicky led the Aggies with 18 kills.
Texas A&M advances to the second round to face 6-see TCU tomorrow night at 8 p.m.
