BUIES CREEK, N.C. - Campbell has now won six games in a row, after winning against Lafayette and UMass Lowell tonight.
Game One – Campbell tops Lafayette, 9-5
Katie Harrington started it off for the Leopards in the first inning after hitting a two RBI double. The Leopards stayed at two runs until the seventh inning when Mary Grace O'Neill and Sabina Lehnert scored on errors. Harrington hit an RBI to give the Leopards their fifth and final run of the game.
Livie Davis put the Camels on the board after hitting an RBI sacrifice fly that ended up in foul territory. Cadan Brinkman also hit an RBI single in the second inning. Amber Desena hit a two RBI double in the third, followed by a three RBI double from Emma Slutzah. Tyra Parker hit a two RBI triple in the fifth inning to give Campbell the eighth and ninth runs of the game.
Emily Dameron picked up the win after pitching four innings and allowing five hits, two earned runs and three strikeouts.
Sophia Alvarez-Backus was credited with the loss, pitching 3.2 innings and allowing four hits, two earned runs and two strikeouts.
Game Two – Camels edge past UMass Lowell, 4-3
UMass Lowell scored the first run of the game after an RBI single from Isabel Quintanilla. Alaina Santoli scored the second run of the game for the River Hawks after reaching on an error. In the fifth inning, Emily Baumes hit an RBI single that put UMass Lowell ahead by two runs.
Allyiah Swiney hit an RBI single in the fourth inning that put the Camels on the board. Parker tied the game in the fifth inning after she hit an inside the park homerun that brought in Charlie Montgomery. Davis hit an RBI single in the sixth inning that gave the Camels their game winning run.
Cassiti Baroni picked up the win after pitching two innings and allowing one hit, no runs and five strikeouts.
Giana Lacedra was credited with the loss, pitching 1.2 innings and allowing two hits, one run and one strikeout.
