Camels fall to EKU, top Bryant

BUIES CREEK, N.C. - Campbell is now 7-2 after falling to Eastern Kentucky in the first game of the day, but then winning the second game of the day against Bryant. 
 
Game One – Campbell falls to Eastern Kentucky, 3-0
 
In the third inning Kennedy Drafton got walked and then went to advance to second, and Jaelin Hayes scored on the throw. In the fifth inning, Drafton reached on a fielding error and another run scored. Drafton scored the third run for the Colonels after Jordan Smith walked. 

Hannah Leierer was credited with the loss after pitching five innings and allowing five hits, three runs and no strikeouts. 

Sophia Alvarez-Backus was credited with the win after pitching seven innings and allowing two hits, no runs and 10 strikeouts. 

Game Two – Camels top Bryant, 7-4 

Madison Ford started it out for the Camels in the first inning after hitting an RBI bunt. Amber Desena and Allyiah Swiney hit RBIs in the third inning to bring the score to 3-0. 

Bryce Clendenin put the Bulldogs on the board after hitting a two RBI double in the fifth inning. Meaghan Houk then hit a two RBI single that put the Bulldogs up by one run. 

In the bottom of the fifth inning, Janel Day hit a grand slam that ended up being the game winning play for the Camels! 
 
Cassiti Baroni picked up the win after pitching 2.2 innings and allowing one hit, no runs and one strikeout.

Lexi Powell was credited with the loss after pitching two innings and allowing one hit, three runs and two strikeouts.

If weather allows, the Camels will take on Eastern Kentucky at 12:00 pm on Sunday, February 15.
