Box Score

ELON, N.C. - Campbell held Elon scoreless for the first 8:31 of the fourth quarter and earned its fifth-straight victory 48-45 Saturday afternoon at the Schar Center.

Gianni Boone led Campbell (15-9, 8-4) with 14 points while Courtney Dahlquist poured in all 10 of her points in the second half. Jayda Angel led all scorers with 20 points for Elon (13-10, 7-5).

Campbell used a 10-0 run to open the second quarter to take its largest lead of the day at 21-14. The Phoenix answered by forcing seven turnovers and using a 12-0 run to close out the first half up 26-21.

Down four entering the fourth, Campbell took its first lead of the second half on a free throw from Dahlquist. Jasmine Felton, who pulled down all six of her offensive boards in the second half alone, put the Camels ahead by six with her second-chance bucket with 2:01 remaining.

The Camels forced Elon to miss its first 11 shots of the fourth quarter before Angel put the Phoenix on the board on her jumper just outside of the paint with 1:29 remaining.

After a Campbell turnover, Angel scored again with less than a minute to go to cut Campbell's lead to two before Gemma Nunez hit a layup with 22 seconds left. Campbell forced another missed shot leading to a fast break lay-up by Boone with eight seconds left to seal the game.

After allowing the Phoenix to shoot 45.5 percent (10-of-22) overall in the first half, Campbell buckled down defensively and held Elon to just 26.7 percent (8-of-30) shooting in the second half including just 3-of-16 field goals in the fourth quarter. Campbell, who made 42.9 percent (6-of-14) in the fourth period shot 34.5 percent (19-of-55) overall while Elon finished 34.6 percent (18-of-52) from the field.

Campbell scored 17 points off 20 turnovers and held a 43-28 edge on the boards. CU also held a 17-6 edge in second chance points, thanks in part to 18 offensive rebounds.

Nunez finished with eight points, six assists and tied her career-high with 10 boards for a second-straight outing. Felton finished with seven points and eight rebounds while Dahlquist added eight boards and two assists.

On its largest winning streak since winning 11 straight during the 2021-22 campaign, Campbell returns to action back at Gore Arena for its annual #Play4Kay game on Friday at 7 PM against Drexel.
