Camels win first game of the weekend against NC Central

BUIES CREEK, N.C. - Campbell  topped NC Central in game one of the series 8-0 in six innings after a RBI sacrifice fly by Livie Davis

The Camels improved to 10-7 for the year, and the Eagles are now 1-11. 

Janel Day brought home the first run for the Camels with an RBI single, scoring Allyiah Swiney, who reached on a double to right field. Tyra Parker then reached on a walk and Davis scored. In the fourth inning, Amber DeSena hit an RBI single up the middle that brought in Alyssa Armijo, who reached base on a catcher's interference. Hannah Cornetto batted Parker in with an RBI ground out to shortstop. 
 
Livie Davis brought home a run for the Camels in the fourth after hitting an RBI double, scoring Madison Ford, who reached on a single to left field. Davis then scored on a wild pitch. In the sixth inning Megan Leon brought in Ashlyn Porter, who reached on a single. Davis then hit an RBI sacrifice fly that brought Leon home and ended the game. 

The Eagles had five hits, but no runs were scored. 

Megan Gregory (2-1) picked up the win after pitching all six innings and allowing five hits, seven strikeouts and no runs. 

Jaden Davis (1-5) was credited with the loss after pitching 4.1 innings and allowing seven hits, five earned runs and one strikeout. 

Up Next 

The Camels will be playing a double-header vs. NC Central tomorrow, March 1, to finish up the series. The first game will begin at 12:00 pm.
