Camels win against UMass and Kent State on day two of Camel Stampede

BUIES CREEK, N.C. - Campbell has now won three games in a row, after winning against UMass 4-3 and Kent State 9-3. 
 
Game One – Campbell tops UMass, 4-3
 
Sarah Keagy started it off for UMass in the first inning, hitting an RBI double and bringing in Brooke Musch. The Camels answered in the bottom of the first inning when Allyiah Swiney hit a sacrifice fly that brought in Charlie Montgomery. Tyra Parker scored the second run for the Camels after reaching home on a throwing error. 

Musch tied the game for the Minutewomen in the second inning after hitting a sacrifice fly that brought in Riley Kairer. UMass started leading the game in the third inning after an RBI single from Angie Rama. In the third inning, Madison Ford got on base because of a fielding error, and Parker and Swiney scored. 

Freshman Emily Dameron picked up the win in her first college appearance, after pitching four innings and allowing five hits, three earned runs and two strikeouts. Cassiti Baroni was credited with the save after pitching three innings and allowing two hits and no runs. 

Hannah Streicher was credited with the loss, pitching five innings and allowing six hits, one earned run and one strikeout. 

Game Two – Camels second win against Kent State, 9-3

The Camels were hot offensively in their final game of the day! Hannah Cornetto started it off with an RBI double. Cornetto then hit a two RBI single in the second inning. Amber DeSena followed it up with an RBI single that brought in Cornetto. In the third inning Montgomery hit an RBI double and Parker hit an RBI sacrifice fly. Livie Davis hit a two RBI double in the sixth inning to give the Camels their eighth and ninth run of the game. 

Kendal Leitner put the Golden Flashes on the board in the fourth inning after hitting an RBI single. Katie Jo Moery went home on a walk for their second run of the game. In the sixth inning, Delaney Robeson hit an RBI single to give the Golden Flashes their third and final run of the game. 
 
Hannah Leierer picked up the win after pitching two innings and giving up two runs on three hits, striking out one. Katherine Serna started the game and pitched three innings, allowing no hits and no runs. Megan Gregory pitched for two innings and allowed three hits and one earned run, striking out one. 

Abbey Pochie was credited with the loss.
