BUIES CREEK, N.C. - Campbell fell to Hofstra 3-2 in the second game of the weekend series.
The Camels are now 22-10 (8-3 CAA) for the year, and the Pride improved to 8-20 (5-6 CAA).
Hannah Cornetto hit an RBI single in the first inning that scored Tyra Parker, who reached base on a walk. Amber DeSena followed her up with an RBI sacrifice fly, scoring Madison Ford, who reached base after hitting a single to left field.
Dahlia Palacio grounded out to second base and Lily Yepez scored the first run for Hofstra. The Pride scored two runs in the sixth inning with Alanna Morse hitting an RBI double, scoring Mackenzie Fitzgerald, and then Morse scored on a fielding error.
Carley Ernst (1-10) was credited with the win after pitching 5.0 innings and allowing four hits, two earned runs, five walks and three strikeouts.
Hannah Leierer (4-3) was credited with the loss after pitching 5.0 innings and allowing six hits, two earned runs, four walks and two strikeouts.
