BUIES CREEK, N.C. - Campbell scored five runs in the second inning to top Hofstra 5-3 in the final game of the weekend series.
The Camels improved to 23-10 (9-3 CAA) for the year, and the Pride is now 8-21 (5-7 CAA).
Amber DeSena hit a ground rule double in the second inning and then later scored after a throwing error by the pitcher, which also allowed Charlie Montgomery to reach base. Allyiah Swiney then hit an RBI ground rule double, scoring Montgomery. Tyra Parker hit an RBI single that brought in Swiney, and then Madison Ford hit a two RBI single that scored Haley Krebs and Emma Slutzah.
Sophia Polzella hit an RBI single in the fifth inning, scoring Gemma D'Orazio and giving the Pride their first run of the game. Nicole Cancel followed up with an RBI ground rule double, scoring Alanna Morse, and then Olivia Malinowski hit an RBI sacrifice fly that gave the Pride their third and final run of the game.
Emma Falen (5-7) was credited with the loss after pitching 4.0 innings and allowing six hits, three earned runs, one walk and two strikeouts.
Hannah Leierer (5-3) was credited with the win after pitching 4.0 innings and allowing seven hits, three earned runs, no walks and one strikeout.
