Camels finish 8th at Chattanooga Classic

Berglund T10 individually

OOLTEWAH, TENN. – Mira Berglund tied for 10th individually and Campbell finished 8th on the team leader board after Saturday's final two rounds of the Chattanooga Classic at The Honors Course.

Originally scheduled as a three-day event, teams played two rounds Saturday to finish the 54-hole tourney before predicted heavy rainfall moves into the Chattanooga area Sunday.

No. 27 Florida (300-292-288—880) won team honors by nine strokes over runner-up and 13th-ranked Virginia (304-299-286—889).  No. 10 North Carolina and Wisconsin tied for third, one shot behind the Cavaliers, and two in front of No. 22 Duke.

Campbell (915) tied for eighth with Michigan in the 15-team event.

Only two teams – Florida (287) and Virginia (286) – posted rounds below par on the Pete Dye designed Honors Course that hosted the 1991 US Amateur Championship as well as the 1996 and 2010 NCAA Division I men's championship and most recently the 2024 US Senior Amateur.

No one in the 90-golfer field completed the event in red numbers.  Medalist Anna Canado Espinal of Duke (68-76-73—217) finished at one over par, two strokes in front of five players who tied for second.

Berglund (78-73-71—222), who played her final 36 holes even par, tied for 10th to lead the 46th-ranked Camels.  Izabella Grimbrandt (78-76-77—231), Alicia Olsson (77-78-76—231) and Isabella Hahne (80-78-73—231) tied for 45th.  Fanni Gronlund finished T83 (85-79-86—250), while Jade Potter was 82nd (82-85-81—248) competing as an individual.

Grimbrandt was even on the par-3 holes, while Berglund finished 3-under on the par 5 layouts and made 10 birdies.  Hahne was 3-under over her last nine holes Saturday.

Campbell returns to action Apr. 11-13 in the CAA Championship at the Clubs at St. James Founders Club in Southport, N.C.
