Box Score ELON, N.C. - Lillian Austin and Ana Lee Vandiver scored three goals each as Elon held off Campbell 13-10 Saturday afternoon at Rudd Field.
Elon (6-4, 3-0) led 8-2 at halftime, totaling 19 shots in the first half alone. Joslin Hanbury and Sam Bischoff combined to score all 10 goals for Campbell (3-8, 1-3), with each netting five goals apiece.
The Camels gained momentum in the third quarter, outscoring the Phoenix 4-2 in the period as Hanbury netted an early goal while Bischoff scored thrice. Elon responded by scoring three-straight to open the fourth quarter to extend its lead.
Hanbury scored three times in the final seven minutes, cutting the deficit to three with 1:19 to go before the Camels ran out of time in the game.
Elon held a 33-19 advantage in shots, 23-16 in shots on goal, and won the draws 18-8. Campbell went a perfect 4-for-4 on free positions, scoring on each attempt.
Claire Witt led Campbell with two caused turnovers with nine other Camels forcing one turnover each.
Alana Lepore made 10 saves in the nets for Campbell while Chloe Herghelegiu totaled six saves for the Phoenix.
Campbell will take a week off before returning to action at Hofstra next Saturday, April 5 at noon.
