BUIES CREEK, N.C. - Campbell is now 3-0 in the CAA after winning the last game of the series against UNCW 6-2.
The Camels improved to 15-7 (3-0 CAA) for the year, and the Seahawks are now 14-9 (0-3 CAA).
UNCW scored first in the second inning after Allison Corbin hit a sacrifice fly that brought in Lauryn Richardson. Cadan Brinkman started it out in the second inning for the Camels by hitting an RBI single, scoring Madison Ford who reached base on a fielding error. Ford hit an RBI sacrifice fly in the fourth inning, bringing in Allyiah Swiney who reached on a fielder's choice. Brinkman then hit another RBI single, scoring Janel Day who reached base on a single to center field.
Ford brought in the last run for the Camels in the fifth inning after hitting a two RBI single to left field, scoring
Hannah Cornetto and
Tyra Parker. The Seahawks scored their last run in the sixth inning after Cassidy Relay hit an RBI single that brought in Mackenzie Amodeo.
Makayla Huddleston (7-4) was credited with the loss after pitching 4.1 innings and allowing eight hits, three earned runs, two walks and two strikeouts.
Katherine Serna (1-1) was credited with the win after pitching 4.0 innings and allowing no hits, one earned run, and two strikeouts.
