BUIES CREEK, N.C. - #19 Stony Brook outscored Campbell 9-0 in the third quarter to help defeat the Camels 19-12 Sunday afternoon at Barker-Lane Stadium.
Campbell celebrated its senior class of Sam Bischoff, Kaitlyn Gallagher, Lexi Goff, Joslin Hanbury, Hailey Kohlmann, Carson Shoop and Rasa Welsh in a ceremony before the game.
Campbell (3-11, 1-6) led by as many as three in the first half and held an 8-7 edge at halftime before the nationally-ranked Seawolves (11-4, 6-0) scored 11 unanswered goals through the end of the second quarter and into the third.
Charlotte Wilmoth led the Seawolves with 8 points on the day, scoring five goals and assisting on three others. Alexandra Fusco added four goals while both Riley McDonald and Isabella Caporuscio netted three goals and added an assist each.
Bischoff led the Camels with four goals and two assists while McKenna Duncan recorded a hat trick in the first half. Hanbury added two goals and two assists while Drew Watkins recorded her first multi-goal game of her career with a pair of goals. Welsh scored one goal and dished out a team-high three assists.
Stony Brook held a 36-26 edge in shots, 29-15 shots on goal, and won the draws 19-16. The Seawolves forced 20 turnovers overall.
Campbell wraps up the regular season on Apr. 26 at William & Mary.
