BUIES CREEK, N.C. - Campbell topped Drexel 9-1 in five innings in the first game of the weekend series. 

The Camels are now 31-12 (16-3 CAA) for the year, and the Dragons are now 3-35 (3-16 CAA).  

Hannah Cornetto started it out for the Camels in the first inning after she hit her sixth home run of the season. Tyra Parker hit a triple to left field in the third inning, and scored after Madison Ford hit an RBI sacrifice fly. Amber DeSena hit a double down the left field line and went home after Charlie Montgomery hit an RBI single. Ford hit an RBI triple in the fourth inning, scoring Parker who reached base on a fielder's choice. Cornetto hit an RBI single that sent Ford home. 

The Dragons scored their first and only run in the fifth inning after Zoe Krizan hit a home run to left center. Campbell scored four runs in the fifth inning to end the game. Allyiah Swiney hit a two RBI single that scored Montgomery, who reached base on a bunt, and Rayanna Motas, who drew a walk. Cadan Brinkman drew a walk, Parker drew an RBI walk, and then Brinkman scored after Ford reached base on a fielder's choice.

Madison Taylor (1-16) was credited with the loss after pitching 4.0 innings and allowing 10 hits, nine earned runs, three walks and no strikeouts. 

Megan Gregory (10-3) picked up her 10th win of the season after pitching 5.0 innings, allowing two hits, one earned run, two walks and five strikeouts.

The Camels will be back for a doubleheader against Drexel tomorrow at 12:00pm and 3:00 pm. There will be an Easter egg hunt after the second game!
