Campbell falls to Duke 9-1

BUIES CREEK, N.C. - Duke topped Campbell 9-1 in the final non-conference game of the season. 

The Camels are now 33-13 (18-3 CAA) for the year, and the Blue Devils are now 35-14 (14-7 ACC).  

The Blue Devils scored five runs in the third inning, with Ana Gold's home run bringing in three of those runs. Aminah Vega hit an RBI single in the fourth inning and then Jada Baker and Brooklinn Thomas both hit RBIs in the fifth inning. 

Charlie Montgomery and Cadan Brinkman got the two hits for the Camels with Montgomery hitting a single to third base and Brinkman hitting a single to left field. The Camels scored their first and only run in the fifth inning after Janel Day reached on a fielder's choice and Montgomery went home.

Dani Drogemuller (14-6)) picked up the win after pitching 5.0 innings and allowing two hits, one earned run, one walk and four strikeouts. 

Emily Dameron (8-3) was credited with the loss after pitching 4.0 innings, allowing ten hits, eight runs, and one walk. 

Up Next 

The Camels will be headed to Charleston, S.C. this weekend to play the College of Charleston in the last CAA away series.
