BUIES CREEK, N.C. - Campbell topped Elon 3-1 in the second game of the weekend series.
The Camels are now 34-17 (19-7 CAA) for the year, and the Phoenix are now 28-18 (20-6 CAA).
Madison Ford hit an RBI single in the first inning that scored Tyra Parker, who reached base after hitting a double down the left field line. The Camels continued the action in the fourth inning with Alyssa Armijo and Parker hitting back-to-back RBI singles, scoring Amber DeSena who reached base after getting hit by the pitch, and Janel Day who reached base after hitting a single to third base.
The Phoenix scored one run in the fifth inning after Gabi Schaal hit an RBI single that scored Kaitlyn Wells.
Anna Dew (2-6) was credited with the loss after pitching 6.0 innings and allowing seven hits, three earned runs, three walks and seven strikeouts.
Megan Gregory (11-5) picked up the win after pitching 7.0 innings and allowing five hits, one earned run, six walks and nine strikeouts. Gregory also hit 100 strikeouts for the season during today's game.
