BUIES CREEK, N.C. - Campbell lost the series against Elon after losing the final game 6-1.
The Camels are now 34-18 (19-8 CAA) for the year, and the Phoenix are now 29-18 (21-6 CAA).
The Camels compiled six hits, with Charlie Montgomery getting three hits, Alyssa Armijo with two, and Tyra Parker with one. Allyiah Swiney hit an RBI sacrifice fly in the seventh inning.
The Phoenix started off hot in the first inning, scoring four runs with Chloe Hatzopolous bringing in the first two with a two RBI single. Gabi Schaal hit an RBI double and then Katelyn Wells hit a home run.
McKenna McCard (12-3) picked up the win after pitching 7.0 innings and allowing six hits, one earned run, four walks and five strikeouts.
Katherine Serna (1-2) was credited with the loss after pitching 0.2 innings and allowing four hits, four earned runs, and one walk. Hannah Leierer came in and pitched 6.1 innings, allowing four hits, two earned runs, two walks and two strikeouts.
