Camels add Amiri Stewart

BUIES CREEK - Amiri Stewart has signed with Campbell and head coach John Andrzejek. Stewart, a 6'3" guard, comes to The Creek following a year at Sacred Heart and three at Wilmington University (DII).

"Amiri is an athletic guard that starred last season at Sacred Heart," Coach Andrzejek said. "Amiri has the quickness and length to create turnovers and guard multiple possessions. He also thrives in transition and off penetration.

"Amiri has a great attitude. He brings energy to every room he walks in; he is a fountain! Amiri's father is a coach and his mother played at Drexel. He has a great head on his shoulders. We are excited to help him make this last year his best yet!"

Stewart appeared in 32 games, started 29, and averaged 12.5 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 2.8 assists per game for SHU last season. At 6'3", Stewart still led the team in blocked shots with 29 on the year. He shot 45% from the floor, 30% from three, and 74% from the stripe.

The Boothwyn, Pa. native scored in double figures 21 times, with four games of 20+ points. He poured in a season-high 21 against St. Peter's and notched a double-double with 16 points and 11 boards in the season's other matchup against the Peacocks.

After just eight games as a freshman at Wilmington, Stewart hit his stride as a sophomore, averaging 11.6 ppg. That number grew to 17.5 ppg in the 2023-24 season before hitting the portal and heading to Sacred Heart. He tallied back-to-back 30 point games late in his junior season, with a career-high 31 against Dominican (NY).
