Konate finishes run at FIBA U20 Eurobasket with Switzerland

BUIES CREEK, N.C. – Incoming Campbell freshman N'na Konate helped Switzerland go undefeated after group play at the FIBA U20 Women's Eurobasket Division B in Miskolic, Hungary, as the Swiss finished the tournament with a 5-2 record.

Konate led her team and was 13th in the tournament with 6.7 rebounds per game, including 4.0 offensive rebounds per contest. She was second on her team with 10.1 points per game and added seven blocks and nine assists across the tournament.

After going 1-2 in the group phase, Switzerland rattled off four straight wins in the classification round to earn a ninth-place finish, the highest possible outcome it could reach after the group phase.

Konate started five of the seven matchups, and she had a 14-point, 10-rebound double-double performance against Croatia. Her highest point output came against Romania, when she tallied 17 points and added nine rebounds, seven of which came on the offensive glass.

Against Denmark, Konate stuffed the stat sheet with 13 points, nine rebounds, five assists, two steals and two blocks. Her final double-digit point total was a 13-point performance against Great Britain.
