BUIES CREEK – Campbell swept Saturday's action and the Campbell Invitational as a whole with wins over Norfolk State and UNCG Saturday afternoon.
Maja Daca was named tournament MVP thanks to 47 kills on .296 hitting and 12 service aces.
Bella Illig also earned all-tournament honors with 60 digs and 5.45 digs/set.
Campbell improves to 4-2 on the season and has won three in a row.

The Camels earned their biggest set win of the match in the first at 25-17. The Camels led by just one at 18-17 when
Maja Daca went to serve, and fueled an 8-0 run to close out the frame thanks to five aces in the last seven points of the set.
The service line was good to the Camels again with seven aces in the second frame, including two each from Illig, Johnston, and Miller. The serving propelled Campbell to a 25-19 second set and again closed strong on a 12-2 run.
It was more of the same for the Camels in the third, seeing the match tied at 20-20 before closing strong. Daca jumpstarted the late run with a pair of kills before Wolkow put a bow on the match with a kill on the final point at 25-22.
Daca tallied a match-high 11 kills on .304 hitting along with her five aces. .
Bella Illig led the way with 12 digs, and
Hannah Pattie dished out 23 assists.
UNCG Recap
Campbell continued to find ways to win close sets, with all three set wins over UNCG decided by three points or less.
The Camels battled for the 25-22 first set behind seven early kills from Daca. Illig was everywhere defensively in the first with 10 kills in the first frame to hold the Spartans to hitting .075.
UNCG evened the score with a 25-20 second set. Allie Sweet had her way on offense and posted 9 kills in the second set to power the visitors to the win.
An even attacked helped Campbell bounce back in the third set, with four kills from Daca, Heytvelt, and Wolkow. With things tied at 24, Wolkow came up clutch with back-to-back kills to give CU the all-important 2-1 advantage.
It was a nailbiter to the end, with Campbell taking the fourth and final set 25-23. The Camels leaned on
Hailey Heytvelt in the final frame as she came up with six kills and the Camels hit .343 as a team to close it out.
Daca led the way with 20 kills, a new season-high for the second day in a row. Heytvelt finished with an efficient 14 kills, hitting .565.
Hannah Pattie had a big double-double with 32 assists and 15 digs, both team highs.

Campbell visits the Queens Invitational in Charlotte to face UNC Asheville, Queens, and The Citadel next Friday and Saturday.
