Sunday Promotion: In conjunction with Mary Weiss's induction into the Campbell Athletics Hall of Fame on Saturday, the women's basketball team is hosting Alumni Day on Sunday.
 
Last Time Out: Campbell went 1-1 on last weekend's road trip, defeating Northeastern before falling to Monmouth.
 
In the Rankings: Campbell ranks 225 in the NET and 235 in Bart Torvik's rankings. Hampton is ranked 279 and 298, while UNCW sits at 319 and 324.
 
Scouting the Opponents: The Pirates have already matched last season's win total and are one CAA victory shy of matching last year's mark. Kayla Lezama leads the team at 14.5 points, third most in the conference. Le'Asia Foreman pulls down 7.6 rebounds per contest, 5th in the CAA. Aaryn Battle is third in the CAA with 2.1 steals per game.
 
UNCW won its CAA opener before losing five straight. The team hosts Charleston on Friday before coming to Buies Creek on Sunday. Rori Cox leads a squad in scoring (13.5) that was picked 10th in the CAA Preseason Poll.
 
Series History: Campbell is 7-2 against Hampton, winning four consecutive games against the Pirates. The Camels are 35-19 all time against the Seahawks, and the home team has won the last five matchups.
 
One of the best in the country: Jasmine Nivar won the CAA Rookie of the Week award for the fifth time last week. She is one of three players in the NCAA to win their conference's freshman of the week award five or more times (Aaliyah Chavez, Oklahoma; Blanca Quiñonez UCONN).
 
The chase for 1K: Gianni Boone eclipsed the 1,000-point mark for her career, doing so against Monmouth. She is the 22nd player in program history to accomplish the feat and the first since Luana Serranho in 2022.
 
Second Quarter Defense: CU is allowing 12.6 points in second quarters, including lows of 0 to Virginia-Lynchburg, 2 to Grambling State, and 4 to both Western Carolina and Carolina University. Nine teams have scored 13+ points against the Camels in the second frame.
 
The Camels are one of four teams to hold an opponent to 0 points in a quarter this season (CSUN, UCLA, Ohio State). Campbell is the only D1 team to hold four opponents to less than 5 points in any quarter.
 
Leading the Conference: CU leads the CAA in blocks per game (4.7).
 
The Camels are second in FG% defense (36.4), offensive rebounds (14.8) and scoring defense (56.9).
 
The squad is top 5 in the CAA in free throws made, rebound margin, rebounds per game, scoring margin and 3P% defense.

The Camels are top 50 in the NCAA in blocks per game (35th), FG% defense (33rd), scoring defense (31st) and offensive rebounding (38th).
 
National Nivar: Jasmine Nivar was named to the Tamika Catchings Award preseason watch list by the USBWA. She is one of 20 student athletes on the list and just one of two from a mid-major program.  
 
Freshman 20-piece: Freshman Jasmine Nivar led the Camels with 20 points against Tulane. She's the first freshman to score 20 points in a season opener at Campbell. She became just the fifth freshman since 2009 to score 20 points in any game.
 
Preseason Accolades: Senior Gianni Boone was named to the preseason All-CAA First Team. The Camels, who finished last year as the CAA runner-up, were picked to finish fourth in the preseason coaches' poll.
 
Decade under Fisher: Head Coach Ronny Fisher enters his 10^th season at the helm in Buies Creek. He has amassed a 185-111 record and has twice led Campbell to a program record 23 wins in a season.
