Jamison named defensive passing game coordinator and cornerbacks coach

BUIES CREEK, N.C. – DaQuaun Jamison has been named defensive passing game coordinator and cornerbacks coach at Campbell, announced today by head football coach Braxton Harris.

Jamison comes to Campbell from Duquesne, where he was the defensive backs coach since 2024.

In his first season in Pittsburgh, Jamison helped guide the Dukes to a share of the 2024 NEC regular season title, with his secondary playing a key role in the team's success. The Dukes' defense recorded nine interceptions, forced nine fumbles, and tallied 27 sacks. The unit also ranked among the top-20 in the FCS in third-down defense (14th) and first-down defense (19th), while boasting the top red-zone defense in the NEC. Defensive backs Antonio Epps (first team) and DJ Cerisier (second team) also earned All-NEC honors.

Last season, meanwhile, the Dukes collected seven total wins, finishing runner-up in the NEC, while defensive back Caleb Jones was tabbed NEC Defensive Rookie of the Year. A pair of other Duquesne DBs were also named to All-NEC teams, including first team selection Antonio Epps, and second teamer DJ Cerisier.

Prior to Duquesne, Jamison served as a defensive graduate assistant at his alma mater, Central Michigan, in 2023. As a player, he was a standout all-conference safety for the Chippewas, lettering all four years (2015-19) and amassing 143 tackles, 9.0 stops for loss, two forced fumbles, three interceptions, and 18 pass breakups.

Before joining Duquesne, Jamison began his coaching career in 2022 as the safeties, nickelbacks coach and special teams coordinator at NCAA Division II Albany State University. The Golden Rams posted a 7-2 record that season, with two defensive backs earning all-conference honors under his guidance.

A native of Leesburg, Ga., Jamison was also a member of CMU's Athletics Leadership Academy Directors Table from 2018-19. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Communications from Central Michigan University in December 2019.
