BUIES CREEK, N.C. – For the fourth time so far this season, freshman
Jasmine Nivar has been selected as the CAA Rookie of the Week as announced by the conference Monday afternoon.
Â
With the honor, Nivar surpasses
Jasmine Felton (2024-25) and Ashlyn Hampton (2017-18) as the only play in program history to win a conference rookie/freshman of the week award for a fourth time.
Â
Nivar averaged 15.5 points and 35.5 minutes over the first conference weekend, helping the Camels to a 1-1 start to CAA play. It's the first time in CU's short history in the CAA the team did not start conference play 0-2.
Â
In the win over Drexel, Nivar scored 15 points to go along with four rebounds and a career-high five assists. She also led the team with a +13 +/- against the Dragons.
Â
Against Towson, the Apex native led the Camels with 16 points while also pulling down five rebounds and dishing out three assists to go along with one block.Â
Â
The Camels are preparing for their first home conference matchups of the season this weekend, as they play host to Elon on Friday night followed by William & Mary on Sunday.
