Camels draw with Highlanders

BUIES CREEK, N.C. – Mikey Morales scored his second goal in the final 10 minutes in the past two games to aid the Fighting Camels to a 1-1 draw against Radford Wednesday night at Eakes Athletics Complex.

Morales found himself near the penalty spot on the end of a pass from Xander Martin, and he turned and fired the ball into the bottom left corner of the net with his right foot with 2:50 remaining on the clock. He is the first Camel to score in consecutive games this year.

Radford (3-7-3) scored the opener in the 76th minute off a corner kick delivered into the box by Hugo Roman. Carson Danner got off a shot that rebounded off the crossbar, and Skyler Denny was first to it and slotted it home.

A back-and-forth affair on the pitch saw Radford record 17 shots to Campbell's (0-11-2) 12. Each team put four of its efforts on frame, as each goalkeeper recorded three saves. Caiden Lee secured his final save of the night with 12 seconds to play.

Augustus Squillace put the most efforts on frame during the match, forcing saves on both of his attempts. Radford's Noel Zimbeva led the way with four shots.
