BUIES CREEK, N.C. – The Campbell softball team stacked two wins on the road Saturday at the War Eagle Classic, defeating Illinois and Binghamton at Jane B. Moore Field.
Senior
Allyiah Swiney led the Camels offensively, going 6-for-9 with six RBIs, including a home run and a game-winning three-run double across the two games. Graduate student
Amber DeSena added six hits in eight at-bats, while junior
Madison Ford went 4-for-7 and scored three runs.

Katelyn Hubley each tossed complete games, combining for nine strikeouts over 14 innings.
GAME #1 – vs. Illinois
Campbell opened the day with a dominant shutout of Illinois. After three scoreless innings, the Camels broke through in the fourth when Swiney hit a two-run home run to left-center to give Campbell a 2-0 lead.
The offense continued to pressure Illinois in the sixth, stringing together hits to add two more runs. Campbell added an insurance run in the seventh on a single by DeSena to seal the win.
Wolfe earned her second career win with the Camels, allowing two hits and striking out three in the complete-game shutout. The offense put together a season-high 16 hits.
GAME #2 – vs. Binghamton
In the weekend finale for the Camels, Campbell outlasted Binghamton in a close contest. The Camels jumped out to a 3-0 lead with two runs in the first inning and one in the second.
Binghamton responded with four runs in the third, highlighted by two home runs, and added a solo homer in the fifth to extend its lead to 5-3.
Trailing by two in the sixth, Campbell delivered the decisive blow when Swiney doubled to right-center with the bases loaded, driving in three runs to put the Camels back in front, 6-5.
Hubley went the distance in the circle, working through traffic and closing out the final inning with a strikeout to secure the comeback win.
UP NEXT
Campbell's scheduled rematch with Auburn on Sunday has been canceled due to inclement weather.
The Camels return to Amanda Littlejohn Stadium for the Campbell Invitational from Feb. 20-22. Campbell will face Iowa, Miami (Ohio) and Radford. The Camels open the tournament Friday, Feb. 20, against Iowa at 4 p.m., followed by Miami (Ohio) at 6:30 p.m.
