BUIES CREEK, N.C. – Campbell defender
Hailey Kohlmann repeated as the CAA Defensive Player of the Week, and
Chloe Annibell earned the CAA Offensive Player of the Week award, the conference announced Monday afternoon.
Â
Kohlmann had another spectacular week, leading the Camels to their second 2-0 week of the year. On Wednesday, the fifth-year player set a new program record with six caused turnovers against Winthrop. She also recorded six ground balls and had her third career multi-goal game, as she scored two goals in the 16-15 win.
Â
She followed that performance with five caused turnovers, three ground balls and an assist in Campbell's 16-6 win over Longwood on Saturday. She currently ranks second in the NCAA in caused turnovers per game (4.20).Â
Â
Annibell recorded two hat tricks, the firsts of her career, in Campbell's 2-0 week. Against Winthrop, the sophomore's third goal of the game was the final of the contest, as she found the back of the net with 1:20 to play to cap a three-goal CU streak and put the Camels ahead, 16-15. She also added two ground balls to her ledger.
Â
In CU's 16-6 win over Longwood, Annibell beat the halftime buzzer when her first goal found the net with seven seconds remaining before the break. Her late-clock performance continued into the second half, as her final two goals came with less than 40 seconds to go before the conclusion of the contest.Â
