BUIES CREEK, N.C. – The Fighting Camels came back from a halftime deficit to tie the game in the fourth quarter before Hofstra ultimately came away with a 13-11-win, Sunday afternoon at Barker-Lane Stadium.

Campbell now sits at 9-3 and 0-2 in CAA play, while Hofstra improved to 6-5 (2-0).

Kayleigh Bender led the way for The Pride, scoring seven goals on nine shots on the day.
Paige White and
Emily Wilson each recorded hat tricks for Campbell, and
McKenna Duncan added two goals and one assist. The effort is White's fifth hat trick of the season, and Wilson notched her second.

The Camels opened the contest with the first two goals of the game before Hofstra responded with a three-goal run. CU added one more on a free position goal from
Tatiana Gouger to tie the game at three after the first quarter.

The Pride took a 6-4 lead into the break as Bender added two goals in the second frame.

Campbell roared back with a 5-3 third quarter to tie the game, 9-9, entering the final frame. CU came out of halftime with a 3-0 run off the sticks of Wilson, Duncan and White to retake the lead.

Another three-goal run from Hofstra put the visitors ahead by two with 11 minutes to play. White and Wilson each scored their third goals of the day to bring the score level at 11 with 3:41 to play.

Bender and The Pride quickly responded to go back ahead with 2:47 to play before Kate Lemery added an insurance goal with just over two minutes to play.

Hofstra won the draw control battle, 18-8. The Camels recorded 11 more shots (36-25), but each team put 21 efforts on frame.

Adria Welsh recorded eight saves, four of which came in the fourth quarter. Luchianna Cardello notched 10 saves for Hofstra, with five of those coming in the final frame.
