DURHAM, N.C. – The Campbell softball team fell 7-1 to No. 19 Duke on Tuesday night at Smith Family Stadium.
The Camels recorded two hits in the loss after falling behind early. Senior
Allyiah Swiney notched her 37th career double, moving into a tie for sixth all-time with Jessica Huffman. Sophomore
Emma Slutzah added a pinch-hit single, while junior
Livie Davis scored Campbell's lone run in the fifth inning, racing home on a Duke error.
Duke scored two runs in the first inning and never trailed. The Blue Devils added two more in the third and three in the fourth.
In the circle, juniors
Kasey Wolfe and
Ryleigh Bennett split time, with Wolfe taking the loss. The duo combined for two strikeouts.

Campbell returns to Buies Creek for the first time since March 15 to host NC A&T in a CAA series. The teams will open play Friday at 5 p.m., followed by a doubleheader Saturday beginning at noon, with the finale scheduled for 2:30 p.m.
The first 150 fans Friday will receive a rally towel, courtesy of RBL Ventures Inc. An Easter egg hunt will follow Saturday's second game.
