BUIES CREEK, N.C. – The Campbell softball team dropped a tight 2–1 contest to ECU on Wednesday night at Amanda Littlejohn Stadium.
The Pirates opened the scoring in the first inning, using a leadoff double and a sacrifice fly to take a 1–0 lead. Campbell answered in the bottom of the second when sophomore
Haley Krebs drew a walk, stole second and scored on a single through the right side by junior
Livie Davis to tie the game at 1–1.
ECU regained the lead in the fourth on a single and a Campbell fielding error, bringing home what proved to be the game-winning run.
Davis finished 2-for-2 with an RBI and a walk. Junior

Emma Slutzah each added a hit, while Krebs reached base three times and scored the Camels' lone run.

Kasey Wolfe kept Campbell within striking distance, allowing two runs, one earned, over six innings. Junior
Emily Allegood worked a scoreless seventh inning with one strikeout.

Campbell hits the road for its first CAA series of the season, visiting the Hampton Pirates. Friday and Saturday's games are scheduled for noon, with Sunday's finale set for 1 p.m. Friday and Sunday's matchups will stream on FloCollege.
