BUIES CREEK, N.C. – The Fighting Camels played three matches over three days through Virginia, culminating in a win over Hampton in their CAA opener.
 
The trip began at Longwood, where the Lancers took the doubles point before rain in the area forced the match to be retired and was declared a "no contest".
 
The next day, the Camels traveled to Richmond to take on the Spiders. Max Hamon fought off Sam Rathmanner for a 7-5, 7-5 decision on court six, but Richmond came away with a 6-1 team victory.
 
The trip concluded at Hampton, and the Camels bounced back with a 4-3 win in their first CAA action of the season. Campbell won the doubles point with a pair of 6-1 decisions.
 
The Pirates won the first two singles matches, then Alex Fragasso tied the match a 2 with a victory over Tshion Fedorov on court two. CU followed that with the next two wins to clinch the match.
 
On court three, Aleksandar Hudjec came back to defeat Kohei Konishi in three sets, while Matias Lofink cruised to a 6-1, 6-0 win on court six for the clinching point.
