54-hole event begins Friday in Southport

BUIES CREEK, N.C. – Campbell begins play Friday in the 2026 Coastal Athletic Association women's golf championship, which will be held at The Reserve Club at St. James in Southport, N.C.  Campbell entered this week with a No. 149 NCAA national ranking, fourth highest among the nine CAA women's golf programs.

After Thursday's practice round, the 54 hole-event begins Friday. Live scoring will be available at scoreboard.clippd.com.

The 54-hole stroke play event continues Saturday and concludes Sunday to determine the CAA's automatic bid in the NCAA regional championships (May 11-13).

As of Apr. 13, No. 149 Campbell was ranked behind UNCW (58), Charleston (59) and Elon (143) among the CAA women's golf teams.  North Carolina A&T (212) was fifth, while Towson (228), William & Mary (232), Monmouth (239) and Hofstra (270) rounded out the CAA members in the national ratings.

Last season, Charleston (880) won the team title followed by UNCW (883) and Campbell (886).

Coach Crooks and associate head coach Val Patino will start a lineup that includes five players with multiple rounds of league championship experience – Fanni Gronlund, Isabella Hahne, Taylah Ellems, Izabella Grimbrandt and Jade Potter.  Freshman Linn Svedlund will also travel as an alternate/substitute.
