BUIES CREEK, N.C. – The Campbell softball team dropped its CAA series opener to Elon, 4-1, on Friday night at Amanda Littlejohn Stadium.

Campbell's lone run came in the second inning. Senior Charlie Montgomery led off with a single, stole second and scored on an RBI single by junior Madison Ford.

The Camels were limited offensively the rest of the way, recording just one additional hit. Elon capitalized on two Campbell errors to score three runs in the fourth inning and added another in the seventh.

Freshman Katelyn Hubley pitched a complete game. She allowed four runs, none earned, on four hits with four strikeouts.
