Campbell scores three goals late to defeat William & Mary

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – The Fighting Camels scored three goals in the final four minutes to break the deadlock and beat William & Mary, 10-8, Saturday afternoon at Martin Family Stadium.
 
CU improved to 10-6 and 1-5 in CAA play, marking the fifth time in school history the team has reached double-digit victories and first since the 2023 season. The Tribe moved to 7-8 and 2-4.
 
Chloe Annibell had a game-high three goals, her third hat trick of the season. McKenna Duncan added two goals and four assists, and Drew Watkins recorded two goals and nine draw controls, surpassing 100 draw controls for her career. Watkins's first goal was a behind-the-back effort in the second quarter.
 
 
Defensively, Adria Welsh recorded nine saves for a .529 save percentage. Kendall Wilson had three caused turnovers and two ground balls, and Hailey Kohlmann forced two turnovers with three ground balls. Carson Shoop had a game-high four ground balls.
 
The Camels held a 5-4 advantage at halftime, but a scoreless third quarter by the Camels allowed the home team to take a 7-5 lead into the final frame.
 
Campbell responded with five unanswered goals to start the fourth quarter. Annibell and Watkins each scored to tie the game at seven apiece before Paige White scored her first goal of the game with 3:47 remaining to put the Camels ahead.
 
 
Duncan quickly added the first insurance goal at the 3:03 mark, and Emily Wilson added Campbell's final goal less than a minute later.
 
The Tribe scored its first and only goal of the fourth quarter with 55 seconds remaining, but the Campbell defense held strong for the final minute to preserve CU's first conference win of the season.
