Camels finish 3rd at CAA Championship

Potter (T4), Gronlund (7), Ellems (8) among top-10 individuals

SOUTHPORT, N.C. – With four golfers among the top 14 individuals, Campbell finished third in the team standings after Sunday's final round of the Coastal Athletic Association women's golf championship at The Reserve Club at St. James.

Junior Jade Potter (T4th) and sophomore Fanni Gronlund (7th) earned their best collegiate individual finishes, and the Camels posted their best team result in 10 tournaments this season.

In a 54-hole event that came down to the final group, Charleston (294-291-301—886) defended its 2025 title by edging UNCW (292-291-305—888) by two strokes to claim the CAA's automatic berth in the NCAA regionals.  Campbell (295-295-312—902) finished third, 15 shots in front of fourth-place Elon (308-302-307—917) in the nine-team field.

With final round winds gusting over 25 miles per hour, no one in the 45-golfer field finished in red numbers on the day or over the 3-day event.  Victoria Levy of UNCW won medalist honors at even-par 216 (69-73-74), one shot clear of teammate Minouche Rooijmans (73-68-76—217).  Charleston's Emilie von Finckenstein (73-74-72—219) turned in the low round of the day and placed third on the individual leader board.

Potter (72-71-78—221) registered her first career top-10 effort and earned a place on the All-Championship team.  The native of Edinburgh, Scotland ranked third in the event with 11 birdies, was T5th in par-5 scoring (-2) and T6th on the par-4 holes (+6).  Her previous best finish was a T22 at the 2025 City of Oaks Collegiate.  Potter's 221 total stands as the second-best by a CU golfer in the CAA Championship since Campbell joined the league prior

Gronlund, a sophomore from Kirkkonummi, Finland, led the field with 39 pars and tied for third in par-3 scoring (even).  She earned a second-straight top-10 showing (77-75-73—225) at the conference championship after a T10th effort in 2025, when she was voted the league's top freshman.

Fifth-year senior Taylah Ellems (73-72-81—226) was eighth overall and notched her best finish since opening the season with a T6 last fall at the Clemson Tiger Classic.  She also played the par-5 holes at 2-under and was fourth in the field with 10 birdies.

Like Ellems, playing in her final collegiate event, Grimbrandt (73-77-80—230) earned her best finish of the year (T14) after making 33 pars (T8th in the field) and six birdies (T10).  Fellow senior Isabella Hahne closed her career in 32nd (81-80-87—248) after placing among the top 15 individuals in her first 3 conference championship appearances.
