Rossow throws complete game, Camels run-rule Tribe in seven

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. — David Rossow threw his first complete game of the season as Campbell baseball secured the series in run-rule fashion, 12-2, over the Tribe on Friday night at Plumeri Park.

David Rossow (6-1) earned his conference lead sixth win of the season tossing seven complete innings allowing two runs on five hits and picked up seven strikeouts. Rossow picked up his 100th career strikeout in the victory.

Campbell quickly struck in the opening frame scoring eight runs on three hits. Trent Rumley and Joe Simpson blasted a pair of three-run home runs while Jackson Thompson drew a four-pitch bases loaded walk and Darnell Parker Jr. registered a sacrifice fly.

The Camels continued to score in the third with four runs in the frame as Parker Jr. drove in a pair on a base hit and two bases loaded walks plated the final two runs of the inning.

William & Mary cut into the lead in the first and third on a pair of solo home runs to make it 12-2 after three. The Tribe had its lone runner in scoring position in the sixth but a play at the plate erased the threat.

The Camels drew a season-high 11 walks in the contest as six different Camels registered hits. A trio of Camels scored two runs and Rumley collected a season-high four RBI. Simpson and Parker Jr. each tallied three RBI for a new season-high.
