Women’s soccer releases 2026 campaign

BUIES CREEK — Campbell women's soccer and head coach Jeff Gross have announced the 2026 schedule featuring 18 matches on Friday morning.

"At Campbell we enjoy challenges and push ourselves to not only meet them head on, but in sport to create them," said Gross. "The women's soccer program has worked diligently over its history to grow and compete. We are going to take the next step this fall."

"To meet the competition levels necessary in conference play, our players will be challenged in non-conference play," Gross continued. "We enjoy playing well coached teams and playing meaningful games against quality programs. Every match this season has meaningful gains to accomplish."

The Camels kick off the season with a pair of exhibition matches against former Big South foe Radford on Aug. 5 at Eakes Athletics Complex before traveling to Wofford on Aug. 8.

"Once again, we've put together a non-conference schedule that will prepare us for a CAA run. The pure number of quality programs in our region allows us to get all we want from games while enabling our student-athletes to focus on the pursuit of their degree with minimal disruption to their overall end goal," Gross said.

Campbell's season opener is set for Aug. 13 as the Camels head to Longwood before hosting its home opener on Aug. 28 against App State.

The Camels will hit the road for a pair of matchups against East Carolina (Aug. 20) and power four opponent Clemson (Aug. 23). The squad will wrap up the month with Charleston Southern on Aug. 27 at home and on the road at Coastal Carolina on Aug. 30.

Campbell will compete at home in five of six matches in the month of September including its final non-conference games against Queens (Sept. 3), NC State (Sept. 6), and UNCG (Sept. 10).

This year marks the second year of the new divisional scheduling format adopted by the CAA. The Camels are in the South Division alongside: Charleston, Elon, Hampton, UNCW and William & Mary. During the regular season, teams will play nine conference matches, which include one match against each team in their division and four matches against teams from the other division (North: Drexel, Hofstra, Monmouth, Northeastern, Stony Brook, Towson). All matches will count in the standings.

The Camels will open CAA play on Sept. 20 at Elon before hosting Hofstra (Sept. 24) and Stony Brook (Sept. 27).

CU opens October with three road conference matches beginning at William & Mary on Oct. 2 then traveling north to Monmouth (Oct. 8) and Northeastern (Oct. 11). The Camels then return home for its final two matches of the season against Hampton (Oct. 18) and Charleston (Oct. 25).

Campbell concludes the regular season on the road against UNCW on Nov. 1.

"This year's schedule has exactly what we want and need to witness the growth of the women I love to coach and the team we will become," Gross concluded. We want to take the next step to the level of consistency that is demanded of everyone that supports this program. Roll Humps!"

The top three teams in each division qualify for the CAA Championship. The No. 2 seed in each division will host the No. 3 seed in the same division. The winners of those matches will face the No. 1 seed in their division in the semifinals. The Championship match will feature the winners with the highest remaining seed hosting the contest.

All home matches will be played at Eakes Athletics Complex and admission is free for all attendees.
