Wright Jr. joins Camels

BUIES CREEK - AJ Wright Jr. has joined Campbell from the transfer portal following three seasons at Anderson.

Wright was tabbed SAC Defensive Player of the Year in 2026, leading the league and ranking eighth nationally with 2.6 steals/game. He's come up with 225 steals over the last three seasons, averaging 2.5 per game for his career.

As a junior, Wright had at least one steal in 29 of 32 games, and multiple steals in 26 contests. He logged four games with a season-best five steals.

On the offensive end, Wright averaged 9.4 ppg and scored in double figures 13 times last season, including a season-best 23 against Catawba.

Standing 5'8", Wright was the team's second-leading rebounder with 4.6 rebounds per game.

Wright is the third player from Anderson to follow Coach Williams, joining Rashawn Inglemon and Caleb McAbee.
