BUIES CREEK, N.C. –
Fanni Gronlund and
Jade Potter of Campbell University have been selected to represent their home countries next month in the 43rd Ladies European Team Championship.
A rising junior, Gronlund will play for the Finnish national side, while Potter, who will be a senior in the 2026-27 season, is on the Scottish team.
Players representing 22 European countries will compete July 7-11 at PGA National Slieve Russell resort in Ballyconnell, County Cavan, Ireland. The event begins with 36 holes of stroke play followed by match play.
Gronlund and Potter will compete on the same Slieve Russell course that has hosted two European Tour events.
Many of the world's best golfers have played in the European Ladies' Team Championship in their amateur days, including 2025 KPMG Women's Irish Open winner, Lottie Woad, who led England to the team title in 2024.
A native of Kirkkonummi, Finland, Gronlund already owns the 12th-lowest scoring average (min. 50 rounds) in school history (74.93). She has posted three top-10 finishes in 20 outings, including among top-10s in both the 2025 (T10) and 2026 (7th) Coastal Athletic Association Championships.
The 2025 CAA rookie of the year, Gronlund was named to the 2026 All-CAA second-team. She produced career-best finish at CAA Championship.
Potter earned a place on the CAA All-Championship Team after finishing T4th – Campbell's low individual (72-71-78—221, +5). She set a school record for lowest 36-hole score (143) at the CAA Championship and produced second-best finish and 54-hole total (221) at the league tourney since Campbell joined the conference in 2023-24…
A native of Edinburgh, Scotland, Potter compiled a 76.7 scoring average and played par, or better, golf three times during the 2025-26 season, including a collegiate low 70 (-1) in the final round of Golfweek Fall Challenge.
