LAST TIME OUT
Campbell rolled up more than 500 yards of total offense and held No. 24 Western Carolina to just one rushing yard, topping the visiting Catamounts 28-19 on Sunday at Barker-Lane Stadium.

With the home opener win, the Camels (2-0) earned their first 2-0 start since 2018, as well as the program's second victory over an FCS top-25 opponent (last at then-No. 17 Western Carolina, 24-16, 9/7/24).

WCU's (1-1) single rushing yard marked Campbell's fewest rushing yards ever allowed against a nonconference opponent, and second fewest all-time (record: -7, vs. Maine, 10/21/23).

Campbell posted 528 yards of total offense, its second straight game over the 500-yard mark, adding seven tackles for loss on the defensive side while holding WCU to 2-of-13 on third down chances.

• Campbell will take on an FBS opponent for the 15^th time in its history on Saturday against the Gators. Florida will mark the Camels' fourth P4 conference opponent, and the first time the program will take on a foe from the SEC.

• The Fighting Camels under third year head coach Braxton Harris return six full-time starters on the offensive side of the ball, and four on defense from 2025. Harris is the third head coach in Campbell's modern history.

LEADING THE CAMELS
Campbell quarterback Kamden Sixkiller ranks among the FCS' top-10 in five categories, including completions per game (29.0, 2nd), total offense (393.5, 3rd), passing yards (673, 4th), rushing TDs (3, 8th), and points responsible for (42, 9th). He was named the FCS national offensive player of the week after the season opening victory at ETSU.

Heading into Week 2 of the season, Campbell owns one of the nation's top offenses, ranking fourth in the FCS in passing offense at 336.5 yards per game and eighth in total offense at 521.0 yards per game.

Four Camels have rushed for at least two touchdowns through just two games, while Spencer Jones owns team-highs of 11 catches and 175 receiving yards.

Charles Battaglia leads the Camels defensively with 17 tackles, with Justin Garza adding a pair of stops for loss.

BENTON TAKES CAA WEEKLY HONORS
After leading 2-0 Campbell in tackles and limiting No. 24 Western Carolina to a record low rushing attack, linebacker AJ Benton was named CAA Football Defensive Player of the Week. Camels have earned CAA weekly honors in each of the first two weeks of the 2026 season.

Benton, a sophomore linebacker, posted a career-high eight tackles, including a sack on the Camels' first defensive play of the game, helping Campbell top No. 24 Western Carolina 28-19 on Sunday. He later added a pass breakup, forcing 3-and-outs on WCU's first two possessions and helping Campbell jump out to a 21-3 second quarter lead.

The Roswell, Ga. native led a CU defense that limited WCU to one rushing yard and 2-of-13 on third down chances, while racking up seven tackles for loss. WCU's single rushing yard marked Campbell's fewest rushing yards ever allowed against a nonconference opponent, and second fewest all-time (record: -7, vs. Maine, 10/21/23).

CAMELS AGAINST FBS OPPONENTS
The Camels are 0-14 all-time against FBS opponents. Prior to the 2020 season, Campbell had played against just four FBS opponents in its modern history, traveling to Troy in 2019 and hosting Coastal Carolina in 2018, while facing off with Old Dominion in 2013 and Appalachian State in 2014.

Campbell's 2020 finale at Wake Forest marked the program's first ever against a P4 opponent in football. CU has now faced seven different in-state FBS foes (ECU twice). In its 14 games against FBS foes, Campbell held the lead in six different outings.

BEDADA NAMED TOP-20 IN CFL SCOUTING BUREAU PRESEASON RANKINGS
Campbell defensive lineman Ebenezer Bedada has been selected as one of the top professional prospects in Canada, earning the No. 19 spot in the Canadian Football League (CFL) Scouting Bureau's Preseason edition of the Class of 2027 prospect rankings.

The Calgary, Alberta native saw time in all 12 games for the Camels in 2025, posting 12 tackles, including one stop for loss, with a pass breakup, three hurries and a fumble recovery. He made multiple tackles three times on the year, including a season-high three against New Hampshire and William & Mary, tacking on a stop for loss against UNH, and a QB hurry against the Tribe.

The fifth year CAA Commissioner's Honor Roll recipient, earning High Honors in 2025, heads into his third season at Campbell after beginning his career at Murray State.

The CFL Scouting Bureau, comprising CFL scouts, as well as player personnel directors and general managers from the league's nine clubs, releases its rankings three times each year, with the cycle beginning in the fall to coincide with the opening of the collegiate season, in winter ahead of prospects' postseason, and a final ranking in the spring following CFL Combine Season.

PETTIS NAMED GOOD WORKS TEAM NOMINEE BY ALLSTATE, AFCA
Campbell linebacker DaVonyae Pettis has been nominated for the 2026 Good Works Team, recognized for leadership in community service and announced by Allstate and the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA).

Pettis has made an impact in the community, especially at Buies Creek Elementary School, located next to the Campbell University campus, volunteering on multiple occasions, often multiple times per week, while also joining BCES for its international day where the grade levels put on international dances.

In addition, Pettis has volunteered with a special needs prom, assisting with food assistance for the homeless, and helped with Campbell's freshmen move in.

In his first season at Campbell in 2025, the Shelby, N.C. native also made an immediate impact on the field, posting 25 tackles, including team highs of 8.5 stops for loss and 4.0 sacks, while forcing three fumbles, registering seven QB hurries and breaking up three passes. He has also been selected as a team captain heading into the 2026 season. Pettis also carries a 3.642 GPA and will be graduating with his BBA-Management degree this December.

Pettis is one of 175 student-athletes and coaches nationally across all divisions nominated on this year's Good Works Team, including one of only 20 student-athletes from the FCS ranks.

The Allstate AFCA Good Works Team recognizes college football student-athletes who demonstrate exceptional commitment to community service, academics and athletics. Established in 1992 and presented by Allstate since 2008, the program honors players who use their platforms to strengthen communities and support causes important to them.
