• The sellout Campbell/Florida game at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium was attended by 88,863 fans, the largest crowd Campbell has ever played in front of at any venue in its history, surpassing last season's game at NC State (56,919, 10/4/25).
• Campbell is now 7-11 all-time in conference openers (5-4 at home), earning its first win to open conference play since 2022 (W 34-28 vs. Charleston Southern, Big South Conference). The Camels also won their CAA opener for the first time (now 1-3 overall, 1-1 at home).
• Campbell's September 26 game against Hampton will mark the 200th game in the program's modern history. The team's season opener at ETSU was the 100th road game in program history, while the November 7 Stony Brook game will be the Camels' 100th home game.
• Last Saturday's game also marked the 150^th Campbell football game on the call for the "Voice of the Camels," Chris Hemeyer. Hemeyer came to Buies Creek in 2011.
• Campbell is in its 19th season of its modern era of football (since 2008) in 2026, its fourth year as a member of the CAA.
• The Fighting Camels under third year head coach Braxton Harris return six full-time starters on the offensive side of the ball, and four on defense from 2025. Harris is the third head coach in Campbell's modern history.
• The 2026 Campbell team features 44 total returners and 62 newcomers, including 34 freshmen and 28 transfers.

JJ Cowan totaled 185 yards and three touchdowns, leading Campbell over visiting North Carolina A&T 42-14 to open CAA play. The Camels remained unbeaten against FCS opponents, notching their first 3-1 start since 2019. Campbell also won its CAA opener for the first time since joining the league (joined the CAA in 2023).

Cowan, a junior from nearby Erwin, N.C., collected his third career 100-yard rushing game, running for 134 yards on 11 carries (12.2 yards per carry) with two touchdowns, adding two catches for 51 yards with another score.

Cowan's 90-yard touchdown run on the game's second play from scrimmage marked the longest TD run in Campbell's modern history (prev. Carl Smith, 82 yards, 10/31/09 vs. Morehead State).

Kamden Sixkiller tossed four touchdown passes and threw for 341 yards, connecting on 23-of-25 passes with an interception. Sixkiller is the first Campbell QB with 20 or more completions and two or fewer incompletions in a game.

Jyron Waiters also caught seven passes for a career-high 155 yards and two touchdowns. Chinua Ezeigbo tacked on 77 yards receiving on six catches, both career-highs. 10 different Camels caught passes in the win.

Campbell led 28-7 at the half, rolling up a season-best 574 yards of total offense. The Camels have posted 500 or more yards in 3-of-4 games this season.

Kalen Villanueva led the Campbell defense with 10 tackles, including a sack, adding a pass breakup, while DaVonyae Pettis tallied 2.0 sacks and Vance Sheppert intercepted two Aggie passes.

LEADING THE CAMELS
Through three games, Campbell quarterback Kamden Sixkiller has thrown for 1,141 yards, the fastest Camel ever to 1,000 yards passing, adding eight touchdowns, while also rushing for three scores. The Week 1 FCS national offensive player of the week and two-time CAA offensive player of the week ranks among the FCS' top-10 in six categories, including passing yards (1,141, 3rd), passing yards per game (285.3, 8th), completions per game (24.3, 7th), completion percentage (.688, 10th), points responsible for (66, 7th), and total offense (311.5, 6th).

JJ Cowan has rushed for a team-high 262 yards with three total touchdowns, while Jyron Waiters and Spencer Jones have combined for 426 yards receiving and three touchdowns. Defensively, Charles Battaglia has totaled 24 tackles with a forced fumble, while AJ Benton has tallied 21 stops, including 1.0 sack and two pass breakups.

CAMELS ENTER TOP-25 RANKINGS FOR THE FIRST TIME AT NO. 22
Through For the first time in program history, Campbell has climbed into the FCS Top-25 rankings.

Campbell is officially ranked No. 22 in the Stats Perform FCS Top-25 Poll, breaking into the national rankings for the first time in its 19th season of the program's modern history. The Fighting Camels have been receiving votes since Week 1 of the 2026 season.

In addition to earning a No. 22 ranking in the Stats Perform FCS Top-25 Poll, Campbell sits just outside the top-25, receiving votes in the AFCA FCS Coaches Poll.

Through four weeks the Camels (3-1, 1-0 CAA) remain unbeaten against FCS opponents, owning their first 3-1 start since 2019. Campbell also won its CAA opener for the first time since joining the league (joined the CAA in 2023), downing North Carolina A&T 42-14 on Saturday.

SIXKILLER AGAIN TAKES CAA WEEKLY HONORS
For the second time this season, Campbell's Kamden Sixkiller has been named CAA Offensive Player of the Week.

The QB tossed four touchdown passes and threw for 341 yards, connecting on 23-of-25 passes with an interception in Campbell's 42-14 win over North Carolina A&T on Saturday.

Sixkiller is the first Campbell QB with 20 or more completions and two or fewer incompletions in a game in program history, owning the top completion percentage (92%) in FCS this season.

The senior fired three TD passes in the first half and another early in the third quarter as the Camels built a 35-7 lead. He has thrown for at least 330 yards against all three FCS opponents CU has faced. Campbell rolled up a season-best 574 yards of total offense against the Aggies. The Camels have posted 500 or more yards in 3-of-4 games this season.

This marks the second time Sixkiller has taken home CAA weekly honors, also earning conference offensive player of the week honors following the team's season-opening win at ETSU where the Norman, Okla. native added national FCS player of the week accolades. Camels have earned CAA player of the week honors three times already this season.
