Camels fall in four at Georgia Tech

ATLANTA, GA. – The Fighting Camels fell 3-1 at Georgia Tech Saturday afternoon in the final match of the Georgia Tech Classic. Campbell took a set of a team receiving Top 25 votes, but couldn't keep pace with the Yellow Jackets to pull off the upset.

The loss drops Campbell to 2-3 through two weekends of non-conference play.

GT never trailed in the opening frame, despite the Camels hitting their match-best .263 in the set and fell 25-16.

Campbell nabbed the second set behind a balanced offensive effort, as four Camels logged 3+ kills in the set. The defense was also stout, posting four blocks in the frame to help close it out 25-23.

The Yellow Jackets got hot again and ran away with the third set, 25-11. The Campbell offense struggled, hitting -.258 with 14 errors to six kills.

Campbell played it tighter in the fourth, but couldn't prolong the match and fell 25-17 in the fourth set, seeing GT take the match in four.

Emma McCartney once again led the Campbell offense with 15 kills. Victoria Tupy had a nice all-around day with 7 kills and a team-high 11 digs.

Magda Kobaidze led GT's efforts with 16 kills.

Campbell returns to Buies Creek next weekend for the home opener and the Fairfield Inn & Suites Campbell Invitational. Action starts Friday night against Ball State, as Campbell hangs the 2025 CAA Championship banner.
