PAWLEY'S ISLAND, S.C. – Miah Rivas won the individual title and Campbell finished as runner-up in the team standings following Tuesday's final round of the Golfweek Fall Challenge at Caledonia Golf & Beach Club.
 
In her first collegiate event, the freshman from Morelia, Mexico finished a 3-under-par (68-73-69—210) on the par-71 Mike Strantz layout, to claim a one-shot victory over UNCW teammates Valencia Chang and Alexis Faieta.
 
Fanni Gronlund (67-75-72—214) and Jade Potter (72-70-72—214) tied for fifth at one-over par, while Yukino Kudo (71-76-74—221) tied for 43rd and Louisa Bloomfield finished T77 (77-74-77—228) in the 120-golfer field.
 
Campbell (278-292-287—857) shot the low round of the day and completed the 54-hole event at 5-over, but UNC Wilmington (284-281-289—854) hung on for a 3-stroke win.  Austin Peay was third at 14-over, High Point fourth (+16) and Memphis fifth (+18) in the 23-team field.
 
The performance was Campbell's best team finish since winning the 2024 Golfweek Fall Challenge.
 
"We were so close! I'm so proud of the whole team," said first-year Campbell head coach Val Patino.  "The girls fought till the end and that's all I can ask for. We didn't win today but we will get one soon. For now, we will celebrate finishing in 2nd place and our freshman winning her first collegiate tournament!"
 
Rivas started the day in a tie for sixth place and was 1-over after a bogey on the 365-yard, par-4 fifth hole.  However, she birdied the par-3 sixth and played bogey-free golf over her final 13 holes of the day.  Rivas clinched the individual title with par on the 377-yard par-four 18th, a hole that requires a forced carry over marsh to the green at the base of the clubhouse. 
 
She made 12 birdies, tops in the field, played the par-3 holes at 3-under (T2) and the par-fours at one-over (T4).  Rivas became the sixth Campbell golfer to win at Caledonia since 2012 – joining Brooke Bellomy (2012), Tahnia Ravnjak (2013), Nadine White (2015), Isabell Ekstrom (2018) and Anna Nordfors (2021).
 
A junior from Finland, Gronlund earned her first collegiate top-5 finish thanks in part to a collegiate low, 4-under 67 in Sunday's opening round.  The 2026 Finnish stroke play champion, Gronlund led the field in par-3 scoring (-4) and tied for ninth with 10 birdies.
 
Potter posted her second career top-5 finish with a solid three-day effort.  She matched her collegiate low round on Monday, made 10 birdies overall and tied for sixth on the par-5 holes (-3).   
 
As a team, the Camels led the field in par-3 scoring (even) and shared the lead with 42 birdies. 
 
Since 2012, Campbell has claimed seven team titles (2012, 2013, 2015, 2018, 2021, 2022, 2024) in addition to three runner-up finishes (2014, 2016, 2026) on the Mike Strantz designed Caledonia layout.
 
The Camels return to action Sept. 14-15 with the Brittany Kelly Classic, hosted by Ball State at The Players Club at Woodland Trails in Yorktown, Ind.

The Course – Caledonia Golf & Fish Club (Par 71, 6004 yards): Caledonia was ranked No.-27 in the 2014 Golf Magazine "Top 100 You Can Play" course listing and is annually ranked on "America's 100 Greatest Public courses" list by Golf Digest.  The 6,526-yard Mike Strantz design has been described as having "18 signature holes," with holes routed around majestic oaks and meandering streams. The picturesque 18th hole borders the Plantation's old rice field, and requires a precise tee shot that sets up a difficult second shot: a forced carry onto a green at the foot of the clubhouse.
