2007: Named third-team All-South Region by the NSCAA and second-team Freshman All-America by College Soccer News... Selected A-Sun Freshman of the Year, 1st-team all-conference and to A-Sun all-freshman team...   Ranked fourth among A-Sun leaders in points (22) and assists (6), 5th in points per game (1.0), goals (8), assists per game (0.27) and game-winning goals (3), 9th in goals per game (0.36)... Ranked 90th in the country in points per game... Leading scorer among A-Sun freshmen...  One of only two Camels (along with Michael Hutchison) to start all 22 games, setting a school single-season record in the process... Had two assists (including one on Vince Petrasso’s game-winner) vs. Gardner-Webb (11/14) in A-Sun first round... Scored 8th goal of the year in first half of CU’s 2-1 win at North Carolina (10/31)... Assisted on Richard Jata’s 90th minute game-winner in 1-0 victory over USC Upstate (10/20)... Strike brought CU within one goal during 4-3 comeback win over Gardner-Webb (10/18)... Had one assist and a goal at Lipscomb (10/13)... Assisted on Khalil Johnson’s tying strike vs. Jacksonville (10/4)... Scored 52nd minute game winner at Stetson (9/29) and 65th minute strike at Florida Gulf Coast (9/27)... Produced second game-winning goal of year at UNC Asheville (9/22) at 102:01... Named Atlantic Sun player of the week and to national teams of the week by both Soccer America and College Soccer News (9/17) after earning MVP honors at Richmond/Nike Challenge Cup... Scored first two goals and assist of his career in wins over Duquesne and Richmond... Tied Duquesne (9/14) game with penalty kick... Assisted on CU’s first goal, then scored winner on 87th minute free kick at Richmond (9/15)... Named one of nation’s top 100 incoming freshmen by College Soccer News... Played with Carolina Dynamo during summer of 2008 and earned USL Premier Development League team of the week honors...

 

Prep/Personal:  Josue Soto was the second national team player to sign with the Camels in Coach Doug Hess’ first five years, following 2005 Freshman All-American Sonny Guadarrama, who now plays for Morelia of Mexico and was a member of both the Mexican and United States' Under-20 National team pools... Led Prepa Tec to the 2005 private high school national championship of Mexico... Has played with the ODP South Texas State and Region III teams since 2005...  Chosen as MVP of the 2005 Lone Star Showcase while playing with the Region III ODP unit... Attended national camp with the U.S. U-18s at Carson, Calif... Member of the Houston Dynamo Academy U-18 and the Houstonians club programs... Born Jan. 3, 1989 in Fort Worth, Texas... International business major...
