As of July 1, 2021, student-athletes are permitted to utilize their name, image, and/or likeness (NIL) for profit as long as its use is not for recruiting inducements or “pay-for-play” incentives. Campbell University Athletics supports its student-athletes in their ability to benefit from their NIL through the athletic department’s partnership with INFLCR Elite. In adherence to Campbell Athletics’ NIL policies, found here, student-athletes may enter agreements with businesses and persons interested in providing money, goods, or services in exchange for use of or promotion by a student-athlete’s NIL*.
*International student-athletes are currently advised by Campbell University’s legal counsel not to engage in NIL activities or transactions as it may violate the student-athlete’s F-1 visa status, potentially resulting in revocation of the student’s visa.
Student-athletes interested in utilizing NIL opportunities, as well as businesses or individuals interested in providing such opportunities, may find further information regarding Campbell Athletics’ policies here. These policies are also in accordance with North Carolina’s executive order, which can be reviewed here. Any individuals who have questions concerning NIL and its effect on student-athlete eligibility are encouraged to contact the Campbell Athletics Compliance office here.
All NIL transactions must be disclosed on the INFCLR app either by the student-athlete or the business/individual providing the benefits. NEW OPPORTUNITY: Businesses may register with the Fighting Camels Exchange through INFCLR here, to gain access to all of Campbell University’s student-athletes available for promotions.
